Bags on display at a road side stall in Manali. Manali has a small but interesting bazaar. Came across lots of small goodies. Fireworks made into balls(with innovative name: kuch kuch hota hai), decorative knifes... And as usual lots of restaurants and apparel shops.

A buddhist temple in Jespa. In most of the places in Ladakh the only colourful structure you would see in the town would be a monestry or gompas. They look very beautiful. Same time don't know why people don't use colour on their homes?

Irrigation canals in Punjab

On our drive across NH1, came across lots of canals. Most of them are very huge. Interestingly in this canal the water was more green rather than blue. Also water appeared to be flowing fast but it was very quite. May be because the walls & floor of canals are more smooth compared to the river beds :-/

Drove to horsley hills on the weekend. The drive was a pleasure becuse of so much of gulmohur and tamarind trees lined on the sides giving a cool red-green maze all along the drive.

Today I walked into a photocopy shop in koramangala. The guy was having some trouble with his machine and told me that in hindi which I couldn't decipher. When I told him I couldn't understand he responds saying Kannadadora?!! He is a kannadiga but he just always starts conversation with his clients in Hindi!! Why is it not the other way round??? Bangalore has gone mad!!!

Kayaking in Lake Tahoe

A refreshing day, we were in the water for around 5 hours. Lake looks amazing and above that previously I had been kayaking only in salt water, this is the first time in clear water and we were just chilling out by jumping into the water. Water wasn't that cold so we could really enjoy a small swim.

We started somewhere in Tahoe City, and after kayaking for around an hour or so were lucky to spot a band that was playing nice country music on the shore. We were able to enjoy the music from the water for some time. There were lots of boats anchored listening to the band. Had a nice lunch at The Blue Agave in Tahoe City and off back to cupertino. Very short visit!

Pleasant walk in the evening. This place is just off the highway 35. One guy I met on the way said he saw a Mountain Lion, donno how much is true. Hope it would have been me :-). Had dinner on the way back at Alice's Restaurant at the junction of 35 & 84, really nice place and amazing food.

Continuing to discover my new kite. Ditched fussbol today and drove to Half moon bay beach in the evening. Weather was pleasant, just a slight chill in the beach. Ah! to my surprise the campground was full!! wow on a weekday! Me and pasu spent some 2 hours on beach exploring the kite. 10 mins of googling before we started and I got the basics of how to make one loop. And actually when I tried it is far more easier that I had thought. Just pull one of the lines and bingo you got a loop! just that you should not release it when kite turns to its extreme which you tend to do before learning loop. Also did some non-crash landings today. Next target: got to learn to put a 8 and some decoration to my kite, it badly needs a tail....
